Kash Top 25 List: My Best Decks from 2024/25 Season

I played a few decks in the past 12 month or so. Some might say a few too many. Enough to make up a Top 25 list even! For those wondering, I did play 37 different decks to either IRL tournaments or online tournaments but I wanted to showcase my top 25 decks, according to how many wins I got with them in IRL/Online.

This will be a smaller entry, just wanted to do this for fun and reflect back on some stuff I played in the previous season. Some good, some bad, mostly fun!

25) Tera Box

1st/24 - Utopia Games New Expansion Event - Apr 27 - IRL

Events: 7 (2 + 5)

Record: 16-13-0 (6-3-0 + 10-10-0)

Win Rate: 55.17%

Win: 1

Top 4: 1

Top 8: 3

So Tera Box is one of the rare few decks on this list, maybe the only one too, where I played it more IRL than I did online. And it's easier to play online events! I did ok with it during smaller events but when it really mattered during the Ultra Ball League, I bombed with it, going 3-5. It feels like Lost Box which is a deck I liked playing but I didn't quite like playing this one.

24) Lost Zone Box (Radiant Charizard)

8th/56 - Bak & Bak PokeLeague #14 - Aug 28 - Online

Events: 6 (5 + 1)

Record: 16-15-0 (15-12-0 1-3-0)

Win Rate: 51.61%

Top 8: 1

Speaking of Lost Box! I always liked the Radiant Charizard one better but it just wasn't as good as the Radiant Greninja version. I didn't play much of it after the first few months of last season but still got enough wins to put it on here. Cool deck, I do miss Radiant Charizard a lot. What a cool card. We still do have Spiritomb in format but it's pretty much useless now with no Vs in roation.

23) Klawf/Terapagos ex

3rd/48 - Redacted 2nd Chance #7 - Mar 9 - Online

Events: 6

Record: 16-13-1

Win Rate: 53.33%

Win: 0

Top 4: 1

Top 8: 3

I only ever played Klawf/Terapagos ex poison deck online and for a good reason. I don't actually have Oranguru V or Radiant Sneasler! I didn't play it much but I did enjoy the deck, it wasn't as easy as it looks as you had to keep track of your damage output, especially when you are trying to KO your opponents through Poison.

22) Charizard ex/Terapagos ex

2nd/15 - SMG Nightly Standard - Nov 11 - Online

Events: 5

Record: 17-12-1

Win Rate: 56.67%

Win: 0

Top 4: 2

Top 8: 2

Here's the 2nd of 3 all online decks on this list. I always liked the idea of pairing Charizard ex with Noctowl, since it's a Tera Pokemon after all. The issue was just getting the Noctowl to work, which meant pre-benching a Terapagos ex or already having the Charizard ex on board. It was a cool idea to try but it pales in comparison to the traditional version of Pidgeot ex or even the Turbo Dusknoir version.

21) Lost Zone Box (Radiant Greninja)

 7th/93 - Moujii's Dojo - Oct 17 - Online

Events: 6

Record: 25-15-0

Win Rate: 62.5%

Win: 0

Top 4: 0

Top 8: 2

The go-to Lost Box deck. This was the last season for us to use it and I just didn't bother playing it IRL, I had my time with it so I just decided to have some fun with it online whenever I had the time. The deck was still strong but when Dragapult ex became more prominent, especially with Regidrago VSTAR, that's when this deck fell out of favour for me. Still preferred playing this over Tera Box.

20) Archaludon ex

1st/32 - WarGames New Expansion - Apr 2 - IRL

Events: 8 (3 + 5)

Record: 26-12-0 (11-9-0 15-3-0)

Top 4: 4 (1 + 3)

Top 8: 6 (1 + 4)

The first winning deck on this list. I thought I would enjoy playing this deck, it looked like Metagross GX from back in the day, a deck I played loads of, but it just never felt the same for me. It was strong for a while but now it's just not quite there.

In fact, you don't even see much of it in the metagame right now. I did get two cheap wins with it in New Expansion events, it was the best deck for those events anyway during that short period.

19) Ancient Box

6th/156 - Pokemon Battle Park - Sep 1 - Online

Events: 11

Record: 28-22-0

Win Rate: 53.85%

Win: 0

Top 4: 0

Top 8: 2

I'll be honest, I completely forgot the stretch where I played this deck a lot so I was surprised to see it on here, let alone ahead of a few others. Didn't play it IRL though. The deck wasn't as easy as it looks to play which made it more fun for me to try and master it. I don't think I ever did which is why I stopped playing it after January.

18) Marnie's Grimmsnarl ex/Froslass

4th/256 - Sunny's Weekly #216 - Jul 28 - Online

Events: 9 (7 + 2)

Record: 33-20-0 (31-16-0 2-4-0)

Win Rate: 62.26%

Win: 0

Top 4: 1

Top 8: 2

One of the newer decks on this list and of course I had to give it a try, most online before I managed to get a few pieces to play the deck IRL. It's a different type of spread deck but I've dabbled in my spread decks before so I knew I would enjoy the challenge of trying this deck out. I'm still trying to master it but seeing a 60%+ win rate is a good start so far. I haven't done well with it IRL yet though.

17) Lugia VSTAR/Archeops

1st/107 - Biznaga Challenge #5 - Feb 26 - Online

Events: 7 (5 + 2)

Record: 33-14-1 (24-10-1 9-4-0)

Win Rate: 68.75%

Win: 1

Top 4: 2

Top 8: 3 (2 + 1)

I've never really been much of a Lugia player so I never really played it much, but I did do quite well with it in the past season which now makes me wonder, why didn't I play with it more? It's funny that the one win I got with it is probably the most unusual Lugia list you'll see, the Munki build which many people probably never even knew it existed and not the usual build with Cinccino or the big basic builds.

But the deck worked and honestly, it was my favourite to play of all the Lugia variants I did get to play. This was also the last deck I played IRL before the latest rotation, so the last ever VStar I ever announced was Summoning Star! Too bad Arceus VSTAR wasn't playable if not it would have been that.

16) Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR/Terapagos ex

1st/43 - Mentis Fortis IX - Sep 22 - Online

Events: 8 (7 + 1)

Record: 33-14-2 (31-13-2 + 2-1-0)

Win Rate: 67.35%

Win: 1

Top 4: 2 (1 + 1)

Top 8: 2 (1 + 1)

This deck was fun to play and I really wished I played it more, and the results shows too, 67% win rate is quite something for me. The combination of Palkia with Area Zero and Terapagos just made so much sense to me and I tried to make it work.

The deck had so many options to do stuff, you can even do a surprise Chien-Pao ex attack out of nowhere. And this deck played Bibarel too, and everyone knows how much of a fan I am of that beaver. I still wish it was legal for play, the amount of decks I could put the beaver in would surprise people, aka, every deck possible!

15) Miraidon ex

1st/23 - Goodness Gracious Games PL Qualifiers - Feb 11 - IRL

Events: 11 (2)

Record: 36-24-1 (29-22-1 + 7-2-0)

Win Rate: 59.02%

Win: 2 (1 + 1)

Top 4: 2 (1 + 1)

Top 8: 2 (1 + 1)

Miraidon is a deck that just keeps evolving. It's gained a lot of new tools as the season went on, now it has the likes of Magneton and Eelektrik to charge energies from the discard. The main bits of the deck have stayed pretty much the same, charge to Iron Hands and just smack from them and get something like Raichu V or Zekrom ex to close out the games. I will say, I never enjoyed it as much, I didn't like my games being decided on Generators when it failed a number of times to get me even 1 energy.

14) Terapagos ex/Noctowl

1st/306 - Tournament of Doom! The New Frontier! - Apr 5 - Online

Events: 8 (4 + 4)

Record: 37-11-1 (25-6-1 + 12-5-0)

Win Rate: 75.51%

Win: 1

Top 4: 3 (2 + 1)

Top 8: 4 (2 + 2)

I didn't get to play this deck much but I hell as sure wish I did. 75% win rate, the highest of any deck on this list! It was the deck I focused on when rotation hit and I tried to make it work as much as I could. I saw my buddy Luke do well with it, asked him about it, took his list and won my biggest ever Online event (306 people)! So I have a soft spot for this deck.

And hey, 75% win rate, half my events with this deck ended with a top 8 finish, be it IRL or online, this was one deck that I really clicked with. Sadly the format evolved too quickly and the deck just never made much of an impact as I thought it would. I've never really done well with a tank-style deck before so this showed me I could play stuff like that.

13) Gouging Fire ex

1st/171 - Tournament of Doom! Falls in love? - Feb 15 - Online

Events: 13 (9 + 4)

Record: 38-21-2 (29-16-2 + 9-5-0)

Win Rate: 62.30%

Win: 3 (2 + 1)

Top 4: 3 (2 + 1)

Top 8: 5 (2 + 3)

This was one of those fun decks that I kept going back to throughout the season. It wasn't the best deck but I felt like I knew I how to play it as best as I could as possible, more than other decks. Plus I do love my Fire decks!

I just happened to gel with this deck for whatever reason. I got me a win in the Tournament of Doom series out of 171 people and it was also the only deck I got a win with in any Great Ball League event last season. I liked it in pre-rotation better, you had stuff like Delphox V for snipe attacks and Radiant Greninja to help power up Sada later on. Post rotation, honestly, I haven't played it much.

12) Raging Bolt ex/Teal Mask Ogerpon ex

2nd/16 - Tornio Teste - Aug 23 2024 - Online

Events: 14 (10 + 4)

Top 8: 2 (1 + 1)

This deck is a ride or die deck to some. Great back-up option to many others. Me? Not one I clearly enjoy playing. I've tried playing it at the start of the season, when Noctowl was introduced, played with it, played without it, I tried all sorts and I just never got it honestly.

The deck looks simple to play but it's really not. So many things can go wrong if you squence stuff wrongly or don't hit what you want which has happened to me many times playing this deck. No surprises that I barely have a 50% record with this deck, it was always very hit or miss for me. More miss when I'm playing it IRL apparently.

11) Dragapult ex/Pidgeot ex

1st/19 - PCG Conference #94 Bo3 - Sep 25 - Online

Top 8: 6 (3 + 3)

Some of you might not even know that this deck was even a thing for a while! One look and you'll see it....doesn't it look like the old Charizard Pidgeot build? Yup you're right, just swap a few stuff around and switch the Charizard line with the Dragapult line.

I thought this deck was quite decent for it's time. It wasn't the best deck for sure, Regigigas VSTAR was still running around and wrecking havoc but I enjoyed playing it for what it's worth. Having Quick Search from Pidgeot ex is the ultimate consistency booster for a deck like this, you can gurantee attacks, disruption or gust whenever you need it. Pult decks now looks completely different but this one, I did actually like playing.

10) Joltik Box

4th/128 - Sunny's Weekly 203 - May 5 - Online

Events: 13 (10 + 3)

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love playing decks with energy acceleration in it so I knew I had to try this deck out. And the first time I played it with little practice, was this top 4 finish in the Sunny's event with this highlighted list.

Yes, it looks simple to play but what's wrong with that? My Arceus decks all looked simple and got me a lot of good results. And at the tail end of the season, it was Joltik Box that got me a number of good results, Online and almost a top 4 at a GBL too. Not gotten a win with it yet so I'll try to check that off the list soon. Also got a 69% win rate with it which is rather nice, I don't have a high win rate with that many decks.

9) Terapagos ex/Dusknoir

1st/63 - Silver Squad Standard - Oct 13 - Online

Events: 14 (11 + 3)

Record: 47-24-1 (41-21-1 + 6-3-0)

Win Rate: 65.28%

Win: 2

Top 4: 3 (2 + 1)

Top 8: 5 (3 + 2)

This was a really cool deck to play, shame it was only viable for about one format. But within that format I did get a lot of games in with it. It was a heavy-combo deck but I enjoyed trying to piece the puzzles this deck would often give me.

Terapagos and Dusknoir just made so much sense together along with Quick Search Pidgeot AND Jewell Seeking Noctowl pretty much getting you whatever you needed to get not just 1 prize, not just 2 prizes, sometimes 3 or even 4 prizes in one turn! Heck I've seen 5 prize turns before as well. That's the power of this deck. Too bad it faded away very quickly.

8) Roaring Moon ex

1st/22 - Goodness Gracious Games Gym Event - Dec 10 - IRL

Events: 15 (14 + 1)

Top 8: 5 (4 + 1)

I did dabble around with Roaring Moon too! I forgot how much I actually played it during this past season. Also it's kinda funny how the one time I played it in IRL, I actually went 3-0 and topped a local with it. Looks quite simple, throw a tonne of energies, charge them up with Sada and having the Roaring Moons attacking and sometimes taking 1-hit KOs.

This was a ture turbo deck, you wanted to run through your deck as fast as possible with the likes of Squawk, Rad Ninja, Sada, PokeStop, Vessel and Running Shoes just to name a few stuff. But sometimes it's not always that simple, there might be times where you needed to attack with Pecharunt or the baby Roaring Moon just to set stuff up. This deck is still around, I just haven't played the newer version of it much.

7) Gardevoir ex

1st/9 - Concept City New Expansion Gym Event - June 2 - IRL

Events: 15 (10 + 5)

Record: 52-32-3 (41-23-3 + 11-9-0)

Win Rate: 59.77%

Win: 1

Top 4: 4 (3 + 1)

Top 8: 6 (4 + 2)

Gardevoir is a great deck, some might say it's the best deck and has been so for two years now. And who am I to dispute that. But those around me knows the story, I just never got it with this deck. I've struggled so many times to make this deck work and never did.

I brought it with me to an invitational event and flopped. I started 4-0 at an Ultra Ball League event with it, thinking I can make top cut, and lost the remaining 4 games to go 4-4. It's no easy deck to master and maybe that's why I'm still struggling to make it work even in this new season. I did get lucky one time to top a locals but the competition just weren't that great that day so I was lucky to get that dub.

6) Dragapult ex/Charizard ex

26th/524 - Singapore Master Ball League 2025 - 28 June - IRL

Events: 15 (11 + 4)

Record: 59-26-1 (44-19-1 + 15-7-0)

Win Rate: 68.6%

Win: 1

Top 4: 2 (1 + 1)

Top 8: 7 (5 + 2)

I didn't play Pult Zard as much as I wanted to but whenever I did, it never really failed me that much. 68% win rate means 2 wins every 3 games which is quite decent for a deck not many really thought was all that good. I'm sure people will go on and say, why not just play a Pult deck or a Zard deck!

The combo of the two just works perfectly. Pult needs a Fire energies, Zard helps to get said energies and they're both two of the best ex-Pokemon attackers in the game so why not! One excels in the early game, one in the late, sounds like the perfect partners to me. And the deck got me a top cut finish at the Master Ball League this past season. Too bad it failed on me the time I needed it the most.

5) Charizard ex/Dusknoir

1st/23 - Midnight Mickey 12 - Jul 21 - Online

Events: 17 (13 + 4)

Record: 63-29-2 (53-26-2 + 10-3-0)

Win Rate: 67.02%

Win: 4 (2 + 2)

Top 4: 6 (3)

Top 8: 7 (4 + 3)

Even though I only really started playing this version of Charizard around March-April, you know how much I enjoyed playing it when it's gotten me the 5th most wins of all the decks I've played! And a 67% win rate too. And only two other decks got me more wins than Zard Dusknoir! Is it a good deck? Maybe? Is it fun to play? Absolutely.

This deck can wipe out any deck, when you set it up perfectly, at any point of time! It's a combo deck like the Terapagos Dusknoir deck just more aggressive I felt. And I played 3 very different versions of this and they all seemed to work perfectly fine for me. I honestly still think this deck can be a good choice in the meta. I've beaten Pult Dusk, Crustle and Grimm with this before, so it can beat Zards traditional worse matchups too! It's easily one of my favourite decks to play this past season.

4) Dragapult ex

2nd/57 - MM6 Return of the Midnight Mickey - Jul 11 - Online

Events: 21 (13 + 8)

Record: 64-43-1 (47-31-1 + 17-12-0)

Win Rate: 59.26%

Win: 0

Top 4: 3 (1)

Top 8: 8 (4 + 4)

The highest placing deck on this list without a win this season but I did play it a lot. It was just a very consistent deck, get the Drakloaks down and you are in business. It was helped by stuff like Lance, Jacq and now Brock's Scouting.

But I wouldn't say this was my favourite way to play Pult. Sure you had two Munkis to help out and stuff like Budew for early game and Bloodmoon Ursaluna for the late game but it never felt enough for me so I've always prefered the Dusknoir builds more to this, but as you'll see later, there's a reason why I kept going back to this. The deck now has more control elements to it going into the new season which isn't my favourite thing, since we only have 25 minutes to win a game, not even a tie!

3) Gholdengo ex

1st/74 - BZGC Online Lvl 19 - Jul 23 - Online

Events: 23 (13 + 10)

Record: 72-34-0 (47-22-0 + 25-12-0)

Win Rate: 67.92%

Win: 4 (2 + 2)

Top 4: 6 (3 + 3)

Top 8: 11 (5 + 6)

I've always liked playing Gholdengo ex, no matter what guise it was in. Be it the Palkia VSTAR build, the Dragapult ex build or the latest builds with Genesect ex, be it with Scizor, Togekiss, Joltik Box, Dusknoir or by itself, the deck is just so consistent that it can make any gimmick work with it, even if most of the time, those gimmicks don't work (I'm looking at you, coin flip cards).

And I got 4 wins out of this deck which is decent for someone like me I guess? And 67% win rate is neat too, I don't have that with many other decks, especially the next deck on this entry. Half the time I played the deck, IRL or Online, I ended up top 8 which is quite good I suppose. I can see myself playing more of this deck and the year goes on, especially when the new Mega Pokemon comes out with their 3 prize payoff and who can easily take KOs? Yup, ol' cheesy dingus right here.

2) Dragapult ex/Dusknoir

67th/563 - 2025 Melbourne Regional - 18 May - IRL

Events: 25 (17 + 8)

Record: 87-55-5 (70-34-3 + 17-21-2)

Win Rate: 42.5%

Win: 1

Top 4: 4 (3 + 1)

Top 8: 9 (7 + 2)

Pult Dusk, yup this deck. The first thing that might poke out right away is my win rate with it, it's not even 50%, it's 42.5%! Most of it are from IRL as you can see, I had my two worst results of the season with it, 2-4 on two occasions at Great Ball League events.

But for some reason it also gave me my first ever Day 2 finish at a TPCi event, and at my 2nd regional event ever too in Melbourne. Maybe I'm just not meant to play this deck in Singapore. I do like playing  the deck even if I've not had as much success with it as I would like to have with it. And honestly, if not for Melbourne, my win rate with this deck might have been less than 40% too.

It's been very hit or miss for me with this deck. Sometimes I'll get a good run with it and sometimes I just crash and burn with it. Just like this past week, I got a top 4 out of 200 players in the Tournament of Doom with it and a few days later, probably placed last out of 20 players at my locals going 0-3 with the same list. But I guess that sums up the deck, it can go very right if you get the right cards or draw decently or it can go very wrong.

1) Charizard ex/Pidgeot ex

1st/214 - Tournament of Doom! is listening to Lo-fi Tunes - Oct 19 - Online

Win: 8 (5 + 3)

Top 4: 23 (11 + 12)

Top 8: 33 (16 + 17)

I mean.....it had to be this right? It was my most played deck in the 2023/24 season, and I pretty much only played this deck to all but one official event that season. I wanted to continue with that trend for this season but with the introduction of Budew to the format and Dragapult ex/Dusknoir now being the most played deck in Singapore since January, it's been a dark time to be a Charizard player in Singapore.

Still, I got as much games in with it as I could, 80 events! I almost hit 67% win rate with it which doesn't seem so bad out of 410 games with it in IRL and online events. 8 wins is my most of any decks, and two were in 100+ players online tournaments, the biggest one being in a Doom event. Of course most of it were pre-rotation, when we still had the likes of Rotom V, Lumineon V and Forest Seal Stone to make the deck work most of the time. Man I miss this combo right now.

Zard with Dusknoir and Pidgeot just works like a charm. Pidgeot gets you whatever you need with Quick Search, Dusclops and Dusknoir don't just help to put damage around, but by knocking yourself out and the opponent taking prizes, it also adds 30 more damage for Charizard's attack. And hey I get to play Charmanders in this deck so that's a big win for me! These days the deck is still alright but the poor Pult Dusk matchup is just not good, especially when it's way too popular in Singapore.

And it's my last season that I will get to play this deck so I will do my best with it to give it the perfect send off in April. Like I said when it was first released, I will play it the first day it was legal right up to the last day it's legal. We will get some new partners soon in Mega Charizard X ex so that will be up to cook something up with it.

Before I end, I wanted to share some fun stats throughout the season, and also some stuff from World 2025.

  10. Charizard ex/Pidgeot ex - 65.37%
  11. Terapagos ex/Dusknoir - 65.28%
  12. Lost Zone Box (Radiant Greninja) - 62.50%
  13. Gouging Fire ex - 62.30%
  14. Marine's Grimmsnarl ex/Froslass - 62.26%
  15. Gardevoir ex - 59.77%

And now some fun stats about how the Day 2 players did and how they ended up in their own season.
The new season is starting very soon, this weekend in fact for those of us in Singapore. Thanks for reading!

Singapore PTCG Season 2025/26 Updates (GBL Season 1)

I wanted to try something new for this season and do some sort of update post throughout the year to keep everyone updated on what's going on with our upcoming 2025/26 season. We finally got dates for the first events for the first season of 2025/26, which are the Great Ball League events.

As of right now, there's 22 Great Ball League events for the first season. (Updated as of Aug 23)

Great Ball League 2025-26

For those wondering what a Great Ball League is:

  • Similar to League Challenge in a TPCi circuit as in
    • 4-7 Swiss Rounds only
    • Smallest amount of points you can earn from official events
  • Winner earns 15 points and also a Round 1 bye for an Ultra Ball League event
    • 2nd = 12 points
    • Top 4 = 10 points
    • Top 8 = 8 points
    • Top 16 = 6 points if 33 or more players
  • Depending on the size of the event, more players can earn the Round 1 bye UBL
    • 16 to 64 = Only Winner earns the bye
    • 65 to 128 = Top 2 players earns the bye
    • 129 to 256 = Top 4 players earns the bye

And when are these happening?

The first GBL of the new season starts on the 6th of September at Games Haven in Ang Mo Kio and the last GBL of this first season is on the 5th of October at Bricks Play in Toa Payoh (the shop that is closest to me). That's one whole month between the two events.

On a personal note, why the heck are there events on the same day as the Singapore Grand Prix? Come on guys! At least Deckard is near the circuit.

So from the info we have, there have been some changes to how these GBL seasons are being done, so pros and some cons:

Pros:
  • GBL events are now held within a 5 weekend period compared to the 2-3 weekend period last season
  • Every GBL event is hosted by a different shop
  • No event stacking on the same dated

The best new change I think is the fact that these GBLs are no longer crammed into a small time period. For me I always thought it was silly trying to squeeze in 30 events within 3 weekends, it made no sense so to see games happening on 5 weekends are great, more chances for people to play I feel. And this should be the way forward.

Also seeing every GBL being hosted by a different shop is great! The game is growing, the player base is growing and now so are the shops! Before Covid, we only had 3-4 shops hosting League Challenges, and now that number is almost quintupled (5 times)!

And thankfully we don't have many events stacking on the same day which was quite annoying to see last time out, we'd see 5-8 events all happening on the same damn day! At least now it's spread out.

Cons:
  • Entry fees increased from $8 to $15
  • No event bigger than 64 players

I'll touch on the second bit first, because it's a small issue, but the highest capacity for a GBL is only 64 players which means every GBL event for the first season, only the winning player will get the bye.

The second bit is the one that annoys me, why did it go up to $15 entry free for a small event like a GBL? I can only hazard a guess and think that's because of the increasing prices of these booster packs because of all the idiotic scalpers ruining the game for us, and now their stupidity has affected our events, thanks you bunch of idiots. Sucks to see but not much we can do about it. Heck even the Ultra Ball League entry fees have gone up to $25, which is the highest I've ever seen for any official event here in Singapore.

But no matter the pricing issue, I'm still going to play...that is if I get the chance to play. It's all still lottery based here. But if I do get in, I'm hoping to win one of these GBLs just to make sure I get into a UBL. My goals this season is a bit different to the last two years, aka go for my 2nd Worlds invite. I was never planning to make the trip to Hawaii or Anaheim, but San Francisco is a must for me! I love North California and I have family there so I can make it a trip to see them and hopefully go to Worlds too.

New Promo Cards

And with these GBLs, there's also new promo cards for playing in them and also for doing the best, usually the top 2.

Air Balloon is a great entry promo card, it's very playable and almost every day will likely have 1-3 of it so that's perfect for players.

Reshiram ex as the top placement promo card for this season puzzles me. Let me just set it straight, it's no Pidgeot ex. It's barely playable and even then, not many players will want this, so why this and not, geez I don't know, Fezandipiti ex or Latias ex.

But it's not just for the GBLs, we also got the see the new Ultra Ball League promo cards:

Wally is a new card releasing in the new Mega Evolution set and I'll be honest, I don't know much about it as I haven't paid any attention to the new set, but it seems ok I guess? But if we were to have a supporter card, why not Lille's Determination??? That card is already one of the best new supporter cards I've seen released in a long time. Some might even say one of the best supporter cards ever.

Zekrom ex is the top placement card and....I see what they're doing, they've got both of them as their promos this year. Now it makes sense haha. Still, would be nice to see something actually playable as the top prize promo, but that's just me.

And we already know what our Premier Ball League promos are, we've seen them a few weeks back:

I mean do I need to say anything more about Budew? The most played baby Pokémon in the game right now with the most used attack in Turn 1 in the game right now.

And Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex is quite the opposite. All the hype and it was a big flop, never showed up in the meta. Still a cool looking card I guess, it's a Mewtwo!

That's all I got for the time being, any suggestions to improve on this is very welcome, I'm just winging it at the moment and see how it goes. Thanks for reading!

Kash Top 25 List: Best Football Memories

Ok so I just need to say this, at the start of 2025, I told myself I would try to do a few top 25 lists (it's 2025 after all, top 25 it shall be) of stuff I like and things I'm into. It'll well past the second half of the year and I still have not done one...until now.

So yeah I just had too much to do that it completely skipped my mind until recently. Hopefully I'll have a few more fun ones lined up soon, be it football, or back to my usual Pokemon stuff, or maybe even F1 stuff, or some game stuff, I'm still trying to think of some fun ones. I wanted to start off with football first since the 2025/26 season is kicking of this weekend and it'll be 30 years on from the first time I can remember following an EPL season. I'm sure I watched games before then but don't recall it that much but around 1995 I knew my stuff even as a kid haha.

Honorable mentions

Two entries just missed out but I wanted to share anyway

Manchester United wins the EFL Cup 2023!

Oh wow Manchester United actually won something for once, 7 years since the last trophy too. But this one got me split since it was against Newcastle United. As you all know, I am a Manchester United fan and this list will be very Manchester United heavy but Newcastle United is the other team I like a lot too and they hadn't won anything for well over 60+ years.

So while I was happy to see Manchester United finally win something again, also a bit sad for Newcastle to have that wait going. Also seeing Manchester United win the FA Cup in 2024 was quite something as the team was plagued with injured and they were up against the best team in England, the noisy neighbors Manchester City and somehow we won!

England beating Denmark 2-1 in Euro 2020 semi-finals, first finals since World Cup 1966!

I've always been an England fan since the 1998 World Cup but I'm used to seeing England dissapoint in the big stage, that's all I've ever known from them. Until this match. Denmark lead initially, then England got one back from an own goal.

And then it was extra time. And the big man Harry Kane got the winning goal which meant England were into the finals of the Euro 2020, which means I finally get to see them in a major finals. We don't talk about what happened in the finals, or the 2024 one for that matter. Or the World Cup semi-final vs Croatia in 2018 as well.

And now onto my top 25 favorite moments in football.

25) Manchester United 1-0 Inter Milan

  • Friendly match in Singapore on July 20, 2019

You might be wondering, why is this random match on here? Well, this is the first, and so far only, time I've had the chance to watch my team, Manchester United, live in person! It wasn't the first time I was watching their opponents Inter Milan either, that story is up next.

But it was so cool to see the team I had been following for years finally playing live! I still am hopeful to go to a game at Old Trafford to watch them play a home game live, but that could be in jeopardy with the news of the new stadium.

24) Real Madrid 1-1 Inter Milan
  • 2014 International Champions Cup match in Berkely, California on July 26, 2014

What's so good about this match you wonder? Well nothing actually. It was a glorified friendly match in the US, and I just so happened to be there at the same time so my cousins got tickets for us to watch a game.

The thing is, I've never watched a football match live up to this point! I've been following the game for a good 20 years or so but never had a chance to watch a game and now this would be the first. And it was two European giants in Real Madrid and Inter Milan. I just watched as a neutral and the game ended in a penalty shootout, so that's always fun. Gareth Bale's goal was quite something to watch live in person too!

23) Brazil 1-7 Germany
  • World Cup 2014 Semi-Finals

So the story is, this match would happen on a Thursday morning for me and I had my Army reservist but my friend and I had a great plan, let's watch the 2nd half together while we're on our way to camp. So I would watch the first half at home and head off.

And I think you all know what happened. Two of the best teams in the World and somehow, Germany were 5-0 up after 30 minutes. There's still 60 minutes to go! I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I was sure everyone else in the world had their jaws dropped. Still one of the craziest games I've ever seen. I'd never in my life think I'd read a 7-1 score in the semi finals of a World Cup game, and Brazil being the one that got beaten too, and at home as well!

22) Manchester United 5-4 Lyon
  • Quarter Finals, Leg 2, Europa League 2025

This was quite recent but I had to include it. It's also one of the rare few games I've watched for the last 7-8 years! And I sure picked a good one to watch. The first leg ended 2-2 so United had to win to make it into the Semi Finals and this game was just crazy.

  1. Manchester United lead 2-0 going into half time (Aggregate Score is now 4-2)
  2. Lyon scores two goals in the second half to put the game into extra time (Aggregate Score is now 4-4)
  3. Lyon scores a goal late on in the first half of extra time to go 2-3 up (Aggregate Score is now 4-5)
  4. And they scored again 4 minutes into the second half of extra time, so now Manchester United had to somehow score 3 goals in the next 11 minutes to win this, somehow (Aggregate Score is now 4-6)
  5. 6 minutes left to go, Bruno Fernandes scores from the penalty spot! (Aggregate Score is now 5-6)
  6. The final minute and Kobbie Mainoo scores! This now means the game will go to a penalty shootout unless someone scores a goal in the next minutes (Aggregate Score is now 6-6)
  7. And in the dying seconds of the game, Harry Maguire completed the unthinkable comeback scoring in extra time of the final minute of the game! We're into the semi finals!!! (Aggregate Score is now 7-6)

The match somewhat reminded me of the 1999 Champions League final, stealing the game at the end, just as Manchester United did vs PSG a year ago or so as well. This is also my only Manchester United memory from the post Sir Alex Ferguson era on this list because honestly there's not that much to look back on fondly in this new era. And also, I don't watch football as religiously as I used to. I don't even have the football channel anymore so I don't really watch it anymore these days, I just follow the results on socials.

21) 4 Late Game winners vs Manchester City

Ok I'm cheating a bit here but there's four entries combined into one for this one enrty! Because we got them 4 different times haha! Nothing feels good about beating your rivals than a late winning goal, and United did it five times!

  • Michael Owen
    • 2009/10 - Manchester United 4-3 Manchester City
    • Scored in the 96th minute
  • Paul Scholes
    • 2009/10 - Manchester City 0-1 Manchester United
    • Scored in the 93rd minute
  • Robin van Persie
    • 2012/13 - Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United
    • Scored in the 92nd minute
  • Ahmad Diallo
    • 2024/25 - Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United
    • Scored in the 90th minute
And let's not forget that wonderful goal Wayne Rooney scored back in the 2010/11 season too, not as late as these one but hey it's still a good one! My personal favourite of the lot is the Michael Owen one, always had been a fan of his even during his Liverpool days and it was cool to see him get that late winner in his first Manchester derby.

20) Wayne Rooney hat-trick hero on debut

So the thing with Manchester United is, they don't really have many big signings...ever. That's always been the case. There's really only a few signings I was hyped about, Rio Ferdinand, Robin van Persie, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

And oh boy did Rooney make a mark right away. I remember staying up at 3am to watch this game against Fenerbahce and he put the world on notice with a hat-trick right off the bat! He would go on to break the record for the most goals scored for Manchester United, beat Sir Bobby Charlton's old record by 8!

19) Tottenham Hotspur 3-5 Manchester United
  • 2001/02 Premier League game, 29 September 2001

One of the best games I can remember watching. Tottentham were 3-0 up at half time and poor old me is thinking, how the heck is United winning this.

Right off half time Andy Cole got one back. Then Laurent Blanc about 10 minutes later. Ok there's a chance! Ruud van Nistelrooy gets the equalisier near the half way mark and shortly after Juan Veron scores the 4th! And to top it all off, David Beckham scores a screamer to make it 5-3! Brilliant! If you ever get the chance to watch this match, do it!

18) Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal
  • 2011/12 Premier League game, 28 August 2011

From one big win against a London team to another bigger win against a bigger London club, almost 10 years (-1 month off) from that game. And this will always be one of my favourite memories watching football. Arsenal was a team that tormented me during my younger days because they were just that good, and if Manchester United didn't win, it was because of Arsenal.

And also the legendary rivalry between the two clubs, it was always ugly. The match was looking good for United, 3-1 up after half time.
  • The Rooney scored his second goal from a second free kick (Manchester United 4-1 Arsenal)
  • Nani then made it 5 just 3 minutes later (Manchester United 5-1 Arsenal)
  • And 3 minutes after that, Park scored! (Manchester United 6-1 Arsenal)
  • van Persie got one back for the Gunners not long after (Manchester United 6-2 Arsenal)
  • Took a while for the next goal to come, but it was Rooney with his hat-trick from the spot (Manchester United 7-2 Arsenal)
  • And to top it all off, Young scores another screamer to make it 8-2! (Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal)]
Not seen a game quite like this against another top opponent. Or did I?

17) Manchester United 7-1 Roma
  • Quarter Finals, 2nd Leg, Champions League 2007

Well yes there was another one. Roma beat Manchester United 2-1 in the first leg so they had to win to make it into the semi-finals. And boy did they come out guns blazing!

3 goals in the first 19 minutes put United 3-0 up, 4-2 on aggregate. Cristiano Ronaldo added a 4th just before half time to make it 4-0. He didn't stop there, he made it 5 just 4 minutes after the second half started. Carrick made it 6 with yet another screamer before Danielle de Rossi got one back for the visitors. Evra got a rare goal to make it 7-1. In the Champions League. In the Quarter Finals match. Absolutely domination. And I stayed up quite late to watch this one!

16) Leicester City wins the English Premier League 2015/16!

Well it's not all about Manchester United! This is not just one of my favourite football stories of all time, but maybe of all sporting stories. Leicester City were supposed to be favourites....to get relegated back into the Championships. They were given no hope to staying up, let alone win the whole thing. They had just survived relegation the previous year. Their odds of winning the EPL? 5000-1.

And what happens next is just something else. New manager Claudio Ranieri got them winning games. And they won some more. They were up to 3rd and took a heavy loss to Arsenal in September. Their next loss was to Liverpool...3 months later! By that point they were somehow the league leaders! Their only other loss was to Arsenal again but they took some big wins that season and with two games to go, took their first League win, the biggest underdog story ever told in football perhaps! Hats off to them and I hope we can see more for this in the future.

15) Newcastle United finally wins a trophy! Wins the EFL Cup 2025

As mentioned before, Newcastle are my 2nd favourite team and I've always kept up with their games and whatever they are doing. I don't know why I kept following them but something about them from when I first started following football just kept intriguing me so I never stopped following.

Before the EFL Cup final vs Liverpool, Newcastle had gone 56 years without winning a trophy and it goes to 70 years for a domestic trophy. That's a long time ago. I did stay up to watch this game, just in case there was some magic in the air against the league leaders Liverpool who were in contention of winning at least 4 trophies. And there was magic, Newcastle won 2-1! Even a late goal from Liverpool was not enough to deny the Magpies their first trophy in 56 years. Well played to them.

14) David Beckham's goal vs Wimbledon
  • 1996/97 Premier League game, 17 August 1996

You've all seen this goal. It's been replayed a million times before. But seeing it for the first time blew my 6 year old mind. How can that happen? Is that even possible?

David Beckham scores from the half-way line! It's rare to see shots going in from that far back, and sure we've seen a number of them over the years but seeing this one was a first for me. This was also the start of my David Beckham fandom, I already knew about it as one of the young players but he made an impression on me that day and I've been a Beckham fan ever since.

13) Cristiano Ronaldo's goal vs Portsmouth
  • 2007/08 Premier League game, 30 January 2008

What a special talent this guy was. From his debut, we just all knew it, didn't we. The spagetti-haired kid from Portugal was special. Ronaldo wowed us on his debut and he just kept getting better and better. He won me over after just a few games, I knew this guy was something special. A worthy person to wear the United number 7 jersey.

This might be one of his best goals. The free kick aren't usually always special but this one sure was. It was quite a ways off, and never looked like it would trouble David James. But he struck it so well that even a top goalkeeper like him was just left stranded. I hadn't see a free kick struck quite like that and it was perfect. Beckham has his bendy free kicks which were special, Ronaldo's rocket free kicks were completely something else.

12) Ryan Giggs's goal vs Arsenal
  • 1999 FA Cup Semi Finals

This was during the epic 1999 season but this goal almost never happened. Arsenal had a chance to seal the game in the dying minutes with a penalty but luckily for United, Dennis Bergkamp missed from the spot and the game went to extra time.

Then it happens. An errand ball gets played and Giggs picks it up from the half way line, runs past one defender, runs past another defender, beats two defenders at the same time, evades a fourth and slots the ball past David Seaman to win the match for Manchester United. One of the best goals I've ever seen and it sets up the Treble win!

11) Eric Cantona's goal vs Sunderland
  • 1996/97 Premier League game, 21 December 1996

This goal pretty much sums up Eric Cantona. Perfect. He scored many goals for United but this might be his finest one yet. That or the one against Liverpool in the FA Cup final that I might be mentioning about soon.

He runs around a few defenders, makes a fool out of them, gets around two, moves past after, does a 1-2 with McClair, goes past another and chips the ball way past the goalkeeper. And he just stands there while the crowd erupts. King Eric just turns around looking at the crowd, arms in the air. Poetry in motion. A perfect goal, a perfect celebration for the perfect player.

10) David Beckham's goal vs Colombia
  • 1998 World Cup - Group Stage

There's nothing really special about this goal to be honest. It's a David Beckham special free kick goal. But it was a David Beckham goal....in the World Cup! I got to see my new favourite player score a goal in the World Cup!

This was also the first World Cup I got to watch so there's loads of memories for me of France 1998. My cousin would stay with us to watch the whole event and all 3 of us would also start collecting stickers, something I've tried to do for every World Cup ever since as a tradition. It's also this World Cup that got me into games, FIFA World Cup 98 was the first football game I ever played and it'll always be one of my favourites. Happy memories, especially seeing Beckham score with a red jersey and the number 7, feels just right.

9) Newcastle United 4-4 Arsenal
  • 2010/11 Premier League game, 5 February 2011

One of the best games I've ever watched and hey not a Manchester United one this time! One of the most amazing comebacks ever. Within 10 minutes, Arsenal were 3-0 up, I was watching this game and I thought, oh well another big Arsenal win I guess. van Persie made it 4 after 26 minutes and I was starting to wonder how many will they score.

The first response from Newcastle came in the 68th minute, but it's still 1-4. 75 minutes and Best scores, now it's 2-4. 7 minutes to go, another penalty scored by Joey Barton! Hang on is there a chance of a comeback? Yes because on the 87th minute, Cheick Tioté scored a screamer, one of the best goals I've seen to cap a remarkable comeback. 0-4 to 4-4! Give this a watch if you can!

8) Manchester United wins the 2012-2013 English Premier League

This was a meaningful one, call it version 5 or 6 of Sir Alex Ferguson's era in Manchester United, we can call it the final version. This was his last season in charge and he sure went out with a bang, taking the record breaking 20th English league win.

It was still a really good team. David de Gea was the best goalkeeper in between the sticks since van der Sar. We still had the rock solid defensive pairing of Ferdinand and Vidic. Midfield did look a bit different, with Scholes, Giggs, Carrick, Valencia and Kagawa. Up front were van Persie and Rooney, a decent squad to end the Ferguson era. The final match was quite entertaining, a 5-5 draw at West Brom.

Still, this was the 20th league win, something I didn't think I would see happen and Manchester United did it. It's also the last league win and honestly, I don't see the 21st league win happening anytime soon. In fact, Liverpool has a better shot of retaking the record at this rate. Sad times but life goes on.

7) Manchester United ends Arsenal's 49-game unbeaten run
  • 2004/05 Premier League game, 24 October 2004

This was one of my happiest moments in the game. Manchester United hosted Arsenal, who were on quite the run. 49 games unbeaten in the league, which is unheard of. They were the league leaders too and we on a superb run. But if anyone can derail them, it had to be Manchester United.

But this match was also quite heated. The last time these two played, Ruud van Nistelrooy missed a late second penalty to win the game and got mocked by the Arsenal players, a scene I'll never forget because it was ugly. I wanted United so badly to beat them, just because of that. And guess what happens? We get a penalty and van Nistelrooy scores! Sweet revenge. And to top it off, Rooney, on his 19th birthday too, scored late on to seal the deal. The unbeatables were beaten!

And then pizzagate happened but we don't need to talk about that.

6) Manchester United wins the 2008 Champions League

This one isn't quite high on my list but it's all good. I had already seen United win the champions league once so it was cool to see it again, just wasn't as special as the 1999 one. But it was with the newer generation squad with the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney, Carrick, Hargreaves to name a few.

And it was against Chelsea, so for the first time in the Champions League final, it was two English teams so that was cool to see as a fan of English football. But obviously I still wanted United win, and because it was Chelsea too, I wasn't a fan of them at this point. Ronaldo scored then Lampard equalized. The game came down to penalties with Ronaldo the only one to miss when it came to the last kick John Terry.

I do not like John Terry. So I was hoping for a miracle that somehow he'd miss. And it happened, he slipped! United were given a lifeline and van der Sar would save Anelka's shot to give United their 3rd Champions League win, the 2nd time I've seen it!

5) Manchester United wins the 1996 FA Cup

Why the 1996 FA Cup you ask? Well it was against Liverpool. And I think this was the first time that I watched Manchester United play Liverpool in any finals, so it was going to be a war at home (my dad and uncle were both Liverpool fans). Even my cousins were split, one on the right side, one on the wrong side.

So of course I was elated to see us win that, it was the first time I had seen Manchester United win any sort of finals! It was a tight game, with just one goal in it. And it came in the 85th minute thanks to a wonder strike from my favourite player of all time, Eric Cantona. So that win was even sweeter seeing him score that to give us the FA Cup!

4) Manchester United wins the 2006-2007 English Premier League

Version 4 of Manchester United took a while to get going but it sure felt good to finally see them topple the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool to take the league win, which took a while as the last one happened 4 years ago.

The team looked a lot different to what it was after the last win, but dare I say perhaps even better? One of the best Manchester United sides I got the privilege to watch. The back 4 of Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic and Gary Neville might be the best back 4 we ever had? Not to forget Edwin van der Sar in between the sticks! Then there's the likes of Carrick, Giggs and Scholes bossing the midfield and the attacking threats of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney, Saha and Solskjær!

The team were perfect, just a joy to watch. Wished they won more stuff though but they getting the premier league after 4 years was a start. The team would end up winning 3 EPLs in a row!

3) Manchester United wins the 1999-2000 English Premier League

We're still on Version 3 of Manchester United as I like to call it but how do you better the Treble winning season? By utter domination of course! This was one of the most one-sided league wins I had seen, no-one could really challenge them.

The team ended with more than 90 points which was a record at that point, and the earliest EPL win, winning it in mid-April! The team didn't change much from the previous year, obviously Schmeichel was the biggest loss but still it was pretty much the same team as before. Cole and Yorke were still killing it up front and we had Giggs and Beckham on the wings and Keane as the boss in the midfield.

Maybe my favourite Manchester United team? Hey I bought the ProStar figures of this team when I was a kid so do I need to say how much I liked this version of Manchester United? And yes I still have it with me.

I had this one! I think I still have most of them at home actually.

2) Manchester United wins the 1995-1996 English Premier League

This one was special to me because this is the first one I remember seeing United win the league. And this was with the Version 2 squad, aka the youngsters! The class of '92 made a mark on the first team. Sure United lost some big players but why not replace them with emerging young players like Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Gary Neville, Phillip Neville and Nicky Butt.

And of course United still had the star man in Eric Cantona and Bryan McClair up front and now joined by the new arrival of Andy Cole. You also had top guys like Roy Keane, Lee Sharpe, and Paul Parker in midfield and the solid defensive line up with Schmeichel in goal and Brue and Pallister in the center, Irwin down the left side, Neville down the right side. A solid team with a great blend of youth and experience.

They did lose the first game vs Aston Villa where some dumb analysist made the stupid remark "You can't win anything with kids". Cantona and co made him eat their words and not only did United win the Premier League with the youthful side, but also the FA Cup, aka doing the double! But how do you better that?

1) Manchester United wins the 1998-1999 English Premier League, the 1999 FA Cup and 1999 Champions League all within the space of 10 days!

By doing the treble of couse. I mean it has to be this one! Version 3 of the squad was in full swing. United now had the scary powerful striking duo of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke and if that wasn't enough to scare people, the backups were Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjær! These two would be starters in any other team.

Defensively United looked solid. Legendary goalkeeper Schmeichel was in his last year, Gary Neville and Dennis Irwin on the side and the center back pairing of Ronny Johnsen and new signing Jaap Stam. Ryan Giggs on the left wing and David Beckham on the right wing meant United always had attacks waiting to happen. Roy Keane was the boss in midfield and he worked well with whoever was with him, be it Paul Scholes or Nicky Butt.

And this perfect team was on a mission, do what has never been done before. And within 10 days, United won the Premier League after Arsenal slipped up near the end, beat Newcastle in the FA Cup and the came the Champions League, which might be my favourite moment ever. Initially this post was just going to be about this but I had to include all 3!

United were in trouble, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes were both unavailable and they were up against the German giants Bayern Munich. They scored within 6 minutes and as the game dragged on, I didn't feel good about our chances. Mind you, this was the first time I had stayed up super late to watch a football game (or more like I got up early for this one). And we hit 90 minutes, one goal would bring it to extra time.

David Beckham with the cross, mayhem ensure, Giggs takes a shot, it reaches Teddy Sheringham and he puts it past Kahn to equalize so late on, the 91st minute! There's still a chance! The very next minute, another corner. Beckham swings it, Sheringham heads it, Solskjær taps it and it goes in! "And Solskjær has won it", I'll never forget that call.

Manchester United with the most unbelievable comeback, two late goal in additional time of the game. Hollywood couldn't write a script quite like this. Best memory in football for me easily, and I don't think anything will ever top it in my life.

There'll be a few more of these kind of lists coming soon, I've got a few ideas floating around. Thanks for reading!
