Pokebeach March Tournament (Template)

Just a brief run-down of what happened:

Deck used for this month: Charizard/Victini PS/Jirachi

List:
Soon

Round 1
vs Richard Haeder (Carbink/Vileplume) WW

Game 1: Took me a while to figure out how to get around Carbink's move, I kept repeating the cycle of attacking with one Charizard and then switching to Victini Prism the next turn. His Lugia GX came one turn too late to do much.

Game 2: Same story, Vileplume was non existent as Charizard just kills it easily. The Lugia GX play came a bit too late yet again. Two quick wins in the first round for me,

Round 2
vs The Vong (Regigigas/Hoopa/Magikarp & Wailord-GX) LWW

Game 1: Never actually concluded. I took a 2 prize lead but both our screens frozed. I had a feeling it was more because of my mobile connection so I asked if we'd skip this game and go on to the next one, this time back on my laptop and giving my opponent the win in the first game because I felt it was partly my fault for it.

Game 2: His stallers couldn't handle the power of Charizard. Taking quick KOs on Regigigas and Hoopa. He too had Lugia-GX but he left it on the bench thinking I couldn't KO it. I had a Guzma, Choice Band and Fire Energy in hand to take down that Lugia for game.

Game 3: He had a bad start and I just took over, killing Hoopa and Lugia-GX before the big moment of trying to kill Magikarp & Wailord-GX. I waited a few turns to do anything as I needed either my stadium to show up or another energy recycler as I had two Energy Switch and a second Charizard waiting behind, with one Fire Energy in hand. Jirachi got me the Stadium which meant Jirachi was free to retreat again. I powered up two Charizards, attached one fire to the new active and it had Choice Band, used my two Energy Switch to move both Fire from the benched Charizard to the active one. Fire energy on the active and choice band meant it did 310 damage to that bulky GX, one hit KO for the win!

Round 3
vs dangs91 (Zoroark-GX/Lycanroc-GX) LL

Game 1: Dead drew the whole way, never got going, scooped early. Horrible start against a deck I tend to do well against with Charizard.

Game 2: Much better start, turn 2 Charizard, Victini helped to get a few important hits. Late on I needed just one out to get Charizard to get the KO and I whiffed it three turns. Just when the last Charmander was knocked out, then I drew into Charizard. A little too late.

Round 4
vs Arneboy (Zoroark-GX/Lycanroc-GX) WLL

Game 1: I had the better start, he couldn't catch up in time. Charizard took all 6 prizes in the space of 3 turns.
Game 2: Close game but he had the better set-up, Muk shut my Jirachi off. Got stuck after that.
Game 3: Dead drew, couldn't do much to save myself from that game.

Round 5

vs Holden Sheeks (Zapdos/Jirachi) LWW

Game 1: Rubbish start. I scooped early.
Game 2: Evenly fought match, trading prizes. He missed one KO on Charizard and game went to my favour.
Game 3: He misplayed one turn, forgetting to set up an attacking and I took over from there.

Round 6

vs PlasmaSim (Regigigas/Hoopa) WW

Game 1: Had to keep attaching 4 energy on Charizard to knock out the bulky Regigigas. Victini kept saving me my energies. Opponent I felt Lost Purge-GX the wrong pokemon, I still had one more Charizard and Choice Band in hand to KO him.
Game 2: He had only one Regigigas to start. Got Charizard up in Turn 2 with 2 energies. He passed. Game over.

Round 7
vs Kalnhobbs (Zapdos/Jirachi/Ultra Beast) LL
Game 1: Very tight game, came down to the last prizes, he got it at the end.
Game 2: Horrible start, donked in Turn 1.

Final result: 31st place with a record of 4/3/0.
